4th February is World Cancer Day 2017

World cancer day 4th of February, Join us and share the message We Can, I Can

World Cancer Day is a global event that takes place on 4th February every year that unites the world’s population in the fight against cancer.

It aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising education & awareness about the disease, pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action.

In the UK alone, someone is diagnosed with cancer every 2 minutes and 42% of cases are preventable with better education and screening practices*.

Unlike many awareness days happening this year, World Cancer Day 2017 is on a weekend, providing a unique opportunity for even more people, sports groups and organisations to get involved in sharing the message of ‘We can. I can.’

If you’re in a sport club of any kind, why not see if there’s something you can do as a team? There’s plenty of great resources available on the World Cancer Day website.

And if you’re putting anything on social media, don’t forget to use the hashtags

#WeCanICan and #WorldCancerDay.

Here at Free Spirit, we’re doing our bit to help people living with cancer by helping make many of our customers dreams of travelling come true.

Many standard travel insurance policies will exclude cover for cancer and other pre-existing medical conditions or will decline to offer cover for the declared condition after medical screening. This can lead to people travelling abroad without adequate cover and risking large medical bills.

By covering medical condition(s), travel insurance from Free Spirit gives people peace of mind both before and during their holiday/trip. Cover includes cancellation, emergency medical and other expenses plus repatriation if medically necessary. With a 24 hour, 365 days a year medical emergency helpline you can rest assured there is help if you need it.

Free Spirit is proud to be part of raising awareness for this World Cancer Day. We’ll be doing our bit, we hope you can too.
