The communication below has been issued by Travel Insurance Facilities Ltd. in light of Brexit:
We are working to ensure that business continues as usual, no matter the outcome leading up to the 31st October 2019. We are continuing to monitor the outcome of Brexit negotiations and the influence these will have on the travel insurance market.
We understand that there is still some uncertainty around what will happen on and after the 31st of October 2019. In respects of ensuring customers are treated fairly, we strongly recommend that all policyholders are reminded and prompted to check government advise, travel insurance cover and airline/holiday providers terms and conditions before travel.
Any policy already issued for travel post-Brexit will remain in place and cover will continue as per the contract at the time of sale.
We also understand that many customers will be abroad in EEA countries over the Brexit period and again, we want to reassure them that cover will continue. In the unlikely event that no deal is made and air traffic is grounded, or there are any other interruptions to travel, our stance is as follows for all policyholders:
- If a customer is abroad, we will automatically extend their cover with no additional premium
- If a customer has a policy in place and is unable to travel, we will offer a full refund or the option to change their travel dates within the usual terms of a policy
