Our insurers are now able to extend the existing COVID-19 covers to include cancellation on new policies. This means that if you are taken ill or test positive for COVID-19 you will be able to claim for irrecoverable costs. This is in addition to existing cover under the Emergency Medical and Repatriation section. For more details click here.
There continues to be uncertainty about travel and The Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has recently changed its advice for some countries (click here for the latest position). As the pandemic is a known event, there is no cancellation, curtailment or travel disruption cover for change in this advice. You will also not be insured, should you decide to travel regardless of the FCDO advice.
We recommend that you look to arranging trips that allow as much flexibility as possible in the booking terms. Many airlines and tour operators will allow you to change dates or defer travel. It is always a good idea to talk to your travel provider should you need to dictate.
