I couldn’t find any record of my mum’s insurance and Mary helped me by sending several emails and by forwarding me the documents. I must commend Mary for her excellent help she was great! Your service has been fantastic, and I certainly will use Free Spirit again, all in all a great result.
Just like so many other reviewers, I was turned down due to ignorance within the travel insurance industry, for the misfortune of having a neuroendocrine tumour (NET), cancer in other words. Sometimes I was offered travel insurance with an incredibly hefty premium, and Free Spirit was not the cheapest which anyway is never the best way to turn. What they did offer however was a realistic premium and policy with the utmost courtesy and friendliness. When telephoning on the only two occasions needed to make my decision, I was immediately connected to an adviser, no pressing buttons for different options, no ‘hanging on’, no answer-machine requesting you to leave a message, or indeed advising you that you are 8th in the queue! There is much to be learned within the industry that we cancer patients are individuals and that some questions are so broad that we cannot answer these questions without falling into a trap which is so unfair. Saying that, Free Spirit has given me the opportunity to travel again, soon, and I will be looking for another quotation later this year from them. Thank you Free Spirit and Josie in particular.
I have found it very refreshing to see how pleasant and helpful Free Spirit have been through a difficult time for my family and I. I am extremely impressed with the excellent service and kindness that we have received. I would have no hesitation in using your company again and also recommending you, the main reason being your considerate staff members.
I was under pressure yesterday, to find another provider for travel insurance for myself and my wife, as our current provider had quoted approx £700 pa for renewal of our European Travel Cover. My previous policy was half this price, which I was happy to pay. However, when I enquired about the reason for such a huge rise in premium, I was told that this was because I was now over 75 years old; this is true, but not to the extent of such an increase in premium. I contacted my prospective new provider, who couldn’t offer me cover at a lower premium, but she did suggest that I contacted Free Spirit. End of panic for me; you came up with a far cheaper premium, for which I’m grateful.
Age U.K. recommended I contact free spirit when I required extra travel insurance to cover my medical condition. I found the questions asked for the cover needed very straightforward and easy to follow. The price quoted was also very reasonable. I have now returned from my holiday safe and sound having had no insurance worries. I would certainly use Free spirit insurance again and would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.
As on our previous experience with Free Spirit we again have nothing but praise for your service. The medical questions asked initially were adequate but non-intrusive. In the past we have contacted other insurance providers and found the long list of questions laborious. All our e-mails and conversations with Free Spirit were friendly and efficient, which is just what is needed. We have now returned from a very happy and enjoyable holiday with no insurance worries.
My Mum was diagnosed with cancer in February of this year, and recently it has been diagnosed as terminal. My parents wanted one last holiday abroad together, but after trying to get insurance for her, this was deemed impossible. One quote was £2500.00!! For one week away!! I decided to try on their behalf, as I suspected that the companies were just hearing ‘terminal’ and not looking at the whole picture, which is, that at the moment she is feeling very fit and well. I contacted Free Spirit and explained the circumstances. I was advised that if we could get a Doctors note to say that she was basically fit to travel, that they would see what they could do. Well very quickly I got given a quote, substantially less than £2500.00, and the customer service operator contacted my parents and it was all done over the phone and they have booked their holiday for the 19th August!! I am very impressed with your company and will recommend it to friends and family.
I thought I would never get travel insurance with my schizophrenia. Then I looked on MINDs website and found a company that dealt with nothing else. I thought the website was quick and easy to use and asked some quite pertinent questions about my mental health. In the end the insurance only cost £40. I was very pleased and would definitely use them again.
My son has pre existing mental health problems as well as some physical difficulties. I am his main carer. He had the opportunity to go away for a week with a friend who acted as his carer and I needed peace of mind that he was going to be well insured [just in case] by a company who understood his needs. I certainly found that with Free Spirit. When I rang I found the staff to be extremely helpful, a good understanding of medical problems, which did not phase them at all, nothing was a problem to them. My son was insured, I had peace of mind, the staff were courteous at all times. The paperwork was sent to me immediately I had everything I needed to know. This is the second time I have used Free Spirit. I have never had to make a claim thank goodness, but I will certainly use Free Spirit again and highly recommend them.
There are times when you feel you have had such good service and attention that you just have to put pen to paper in recognition of the care, help and time you have received. In this case it was for the arrangement of my holiday insurance ensuring that medical conditions were appropriately and fully covered before long distance travel.
